Stavros Niarchos, architectural & cultural masterpiece!
One of my favorite spots in Athens is Stavros Niarchos which is an architectural masterpiece, also a cultural and spiritual attraction. Inside Stavros Niarchos is located the National Opera of Greece and the National Library.
The building its own is one of the most impressive buildings in Greece, some of the visitors said that maybe is one of the most impressive buildings in Europe. From the top of the building which is accessible, you can gaze at the view of Athens which is fantastic, from the one side you can see the horizon of the sea and an awesome sunset! From the other side, you can see the whole of Athens.
Inside of Stavros Niarchos, there is a canal and they have made one of the most beautiful public parks in Athens, with greek olive trees, and greek plant species. Inside the park, there is a huge green area that during the warm period in Athens a lot of concerts and movies play there for free for the visitors, not forget to take a picnic blanket and a mosquito repellent cream so to enjoy the event without disturbing! When you finish your visit to Stavros Niarchos, two amazing greek restaurants take place a breath away from the Niarchos, one is called “Pezoulas”, a family fish tavern since the 50s.
Opposite of Pezoulas one of my favorite all day restaurants take place with creative Greek cuisine and a huge wine list from all over the world. If you want to get some local vibes, you can go to l’Ovelha Negra, they know how to make awesome cocktails accompanied with greek tapas, also they know well how to keep the grooves high, possibly you will crash on me there!
