Get lost in the streets of Plaka and find yourself!
I am not sure if it is the alleys of Plaka or the energy of Acropolis (I am not kidding, ancient greeks didn’t leave anything in chance, and Acropolis has a bit of magic when you walk around it).
There are two common routes to approach Plaka, you can start from Museum of Acropolis from Vyronos Street, either from Monastiraki Square from Areos Street which starts next to Monastiraki Metro, sorry but I won’t give you any more info.
As the title suggests, you have to get lost in the streets to find hidden gems.. Time has stopped in this area, a movie scene, one of the most picturesque neighborhoods of Europe, buildings are there since the 17th century, small greek taverns and small cafes are located in the area where you can take a break, my favorite Klepsydra is ideal to enjoy a coffee or a beer at night, a great place to have deep conversations about philosophical issues in the place where everything started.
Not forget to mention my favorite summer movie theater at Plaka Cine Paris, next to the cinema Brettos take place which is one of the most famous bars for its liqueurs, there you can taste liqueurs in any flavor you can imagine, sometimes more than you can imagine!!
To sum up, if you come to Athens do not miss visiting this place, it will be stuck in your memory forever!
